Frankie Manning May 26th, 1914 - April 27th, 2009 A little while ago I recieved very upsetting news from my fellow follow, Whitney. Frankie Manning had passed away yesterday morning. I had been...him, let alone meet him. He taught me that it was perfectly fine to move my hips! He’s absolutely one of my heroes, dancing till the age of 94 - while being just as charming as anyone could ever be.

You know what? It's hard to go back to fencing. I'm not just talking about the ache in my legs whenever I stand in en garde, which I expected, but the simple fact that I'm not as good at it as I used...tomorrow, I think that badly malfunctioning equipment that you can't fix/replace disqualifies you from competing. And it would really stink to go the competition and sit on the sideline the whole day
I finally dragged myself out to swing dancing for the first time in 3 months. Although I was out of practice, I actually had no trouble following. I tried to help out this kid (I use this term for lack...fun it is. Hopefully now that the mono is gone I can go regularly again. (Though I usually get tired out from Wednesday afternoon Techiya rehearsals. But next semester's schedule may be different.

Went swing dancing for the first time in maybe a year and a half! And *sigh* it really hit the spot. In a big way. Something happened to me that night, and I don’t think I’ll ever be quite the same. It’s...looking in awe at the more experienced and wondering how they did it. I realized afterward with a start on this night, I was one of them. I’ve been away from swing dancing for too long. I’ll be back
