I reread the last entry and can't exactly remember where it was that I left off concerning jumping. But know that I jumped his legs off over cross-rails three days that week. He actually liked it - I bought the thickest one I could find, the bean is HUGE, and I'm a bit fan of double-jointed bits. trypton would have loved it, I think]. The show.....

So, in preperation for the show I want to go to this weekend, I went off in search of Griff's Coggin's papers [I thought he was due for a coggins in Feb]. I found them [although not in my folder, which... but Griff wasn't happy about it. The next day, I didn't go, but they watered the arena. Since I hadn't been jumping him [less it was through the snow] I decided last week it was time to start again

Its been a while - but Griff's been coming right along just fine! I didn't ride him much this past week. Xmas week I went out a few times, worked a bit on the flat, mostly on connection. We've been cantering... So we worked on trotting, doing circles, sudden changes in direction, etc, and he was surprisingly supple. I guess I just never realized it before. I'll update about Sunday and the barrels later :

Lol. Whoops, my bad. Its been almost three weeks! A lot of interesting things have happened. Firstly, I've introduced side-reins. I've been slacking, I know. But, well, -shrug- I dunno. Mostly last week I tried to keep him pretty consistant - ask for walk, stretching into the trot, building muscle in the canter, etc. Tuesday we...about last night. So now I need to get my ass in gear and get a loan. We'll see what happens next. Plans: introduce side-reins ride in side-reins all trot work circles lounging in the canter    poles
