Hey. A computer software and services company hosted a seminar in Knoxville today, and I went. Not only was the lecture very helpful to me, but I won a backpack as swag! Photographic evidence will come on a later day this week. Meanwhile, I also got a call in for another job interview in Asheville for Friday. So I have a reason to pack my bag. FP
Hard to tell at this point. :/ Signed up for Bablegum.com this evening for no reason other than the simple fact that they had a favoredepisode of "Thugs On Film" in their stock. It took an hour to download and install their player, and another hour (and counting) to attempt downloading the video I want. Yes, I can blame dial-up but this system compounds the agony.
The TV set in our dining room has, of late, given us minor problems with it needing some warm-up time before the picture resolves. The issue has been a minor nuisance. Today, I catch Dad trying to unplug...we have, once the one we have is warmed up. I ask, "How much did you pay for this TV?" "Five Dollars." He's taking it back where he got it as I type this...and he promises me he'll get another TV
Last week, one of our neighbors died. He was a paraplegic (sp?) from a crippling accident suffered many years ago. Today, as arranged by my father, I went to his place and did some searches of his computer...times of the day and night. But we never got suspicious about it. Still, I never met the man, and will never know if I could have gotten along with him...and I guess that fact haunts me a little. F
I opened a DeviantArt account . Like my YouTube account, it'll probably be a barren wasteland for some time to come. Perhaps this will spur me to scan more of my photo collection and that jazz.
Okay. I had narrowed my problem to the FFDShow Video Decoder. After a moment's rumination (perhaps the fastest such event in recent times) I came upon the logical conclusion: * Go Downloadthe LATEST VERSION! * So I did. And it works! On ZoomPlayer at least. FP
Spent a horrid load of time today sitting in front of the TV, watching the Long Beach American Le Mans race and playing around with the digital receiver. Now I know how to switch quickly between screen...(tho' it's rarely in the better-than-average range in these parts). Now I know how to bring up the data on a show. It only does a little more to make TV worth watching. It's more of the same. F
Dad got the first of our two "allotted" digital TV receiver boxes this afternoon. I got it running on our living-roomTV set within five or six minutes. The most time-consuming part was when it scanned the spectrum for our channels. Now it's no longer 5.7 channels (and nuthin' on), it's 10.7 channels and maybe something on, but no guarantees.
We got our DigitalTelevision Receiver coupons from the Federal Government today. I went to the local RadShack to see what they had...only one type in stock--but it's CHEAP. Coupon + $20 + sales tax gets us one. Perhaps we will get ours this week. FP
Hey. Notes to myself as much as to the world... A site about the missile used, with some technical data . Now what I find interesting, in a military theory sort of way... That "third stage". What...allow salvos of anti-missile kill vehicles to be used against enemy missiles. So in this respect, I'm all for it--if it means we can wean our own nation OFF the weapons of mass destruction diet
