Title: What's Important Author: arrow00 Fandom: The Sentinel Pairing: Jim/Blair Summary: Being sheriff of a small town after being a major crimes detective in Cascade was a lot like hopping...more internal forces that are causing problems. Loved the way Jim thinks about Blair, what he wants from him and for him and how he feels like his abilities make things so much harder for him/them

It was an
hour before the kitchen was in a state Jim could live with and he and
Blair sat, freshly showered, at the dinner table, to eat their
delivered... deserved: without the remains of
doubt and guilt between them, with nothing to mar the pure and simple
perfection of their love. Blair seemed to have no objection to this
plan.

The next
morning dawned late and slow. But that was okay; they'd both needed
the rest. And when, after waking, Blair began to leisurely divest
both Jim...conscious later.
"Sure,
no problem. Chief. Just go get started while I get this mess cleaned
up and make the call to Benito's. I'll be with you in a minute."

"Don't
move!" The voice was heavily accented and cold, matching the
expression on Stephane's face as Jim's eyes came to rest upon him and
the gun he was...like harbor water. He
just pulled his lover's already sleeping form to his chest and willed
himself to follow him into exhausted, and hopefully dreamless,
slumber.

As it was, the door to the stairwell he'd just squeezed through seemed to have
served as a bottleneck for the crowd and, once he had cleared it, he
could...she'd failed at last. Bolstered
with what was the first unexpected turn of events that had gone in
their favor, Jim turned towards Blair to tell him what was going on.

Around a
quarter to ten, a beautiful woman in an expensive-looking evening
gown entered the room and seemed to catch the attention of virtually
the whole...that the sound came from way down below, perhaps from the
6th or 7th floor, while he himself was still on the 15th. How had
Tulipo gotten so far down so fast?

The day of
the reunion arrived the following Saturday, and from the operative
side of things Jim had to admit that things looked as okay as
possible, disregarding...and between
chatting and catching each other up about their jobs and families,
the two ladies currently manning the desk were interrupted by late
comers every so often.

However,
when Jim had followed Meinberg and Blair out of Simon's office, he
couldn't help but feel like he'd sold his soul to the devil. Not
only had he...of which, you
think they got decent sized bathtubs at this place?
Jim
grinned, swatting Blair on his butt. "I don't know, Romeo. But
let's go find out."
