Here's some of the music that's on heavy rotation on my iTunes now. There's no real theme, just some good music :P Boy With a Coin - Iron and Wine Yesterday I went to an Iron & Wine/The Swell...great description of that miserable time after a big breakup when everything you see reminds you of that person and how...well...you couldn't help but fall in love again. Here It Is! Enjoy
I just saw the Swell Season. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to pay $40 for it, but it was definitelyworth it. It was pretty much a religious experience. There were about five standing ovations. I want...us see the entire stage, it was a much better experience. I really could have done without the opener. He had a song about how when he dies, he wants his widow to wear something sexy to his funeral
AHHHH! I had the HARDEST day at work and I come home to a BEAUTIFUL wife... she got me surprises! I received: Burberry cologne (i smell so british!) watch (too nice for words...pictures later?) body...came to chicago so i CANNOT believe they are in tulsa. YAY! i'll update soon. P.S. PLEASE keep stac in your thoughts and/or prayers tomorrow. she is going in for minor knee surgery. thanks! -Gab
I finally got to hear Fitzcarraldo! Oh man! I mentioned it yesterday night, and again before the show started I told canadiangirl_86 that I've seen Glen quite a few times and I couldn't believe...magical. The rest of the night however, was. So don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not complaining. But for a big fan of the band... this is why it's worth it to go to see a gig in their home country
I saw Ghost Town today - first time in a while that I've actually seen a movie in a theatre (though I still didn't end up paying full price) and it was charming. Completely predictable , definitely... And in a dream set list we'd get Red Chord, Fitz, Hallelujah, fogtown, and this new one - Back Broke. (I'm guessing I'd be pushing it just a bit too far to ask for a Mic Christopher cover?)
So I think I must have been taking crazy pills yesterday when I made that list of top 5 musical movies that are non-musicals because I neglected to include one truly fantasmo movie of the movie-non...amazing – is that? Maybe I should have gone there and become a bestsellingauthor like her. Oh, who am I kidding, then I’d miss out on TIFF and let’s be honest, I don’t think I’d live without it.
In case I don't get a chance to reply to everyone, thank you so much for the kind words on my last post (which is now locked)... my dad's doing better, and the friend got some good news, in that he'll...it? Here's something to make it worthwhile - an amazing jazzy version of Fogtown by Glen, Mar, and Liam O Maonlai (if the rest of it doesn't pop up on youtube, I'll put it up myself)
Yes! I'm just going to kick into it tonight. The only group I'll be doing tonight will be The Swell Season, who is up as I type. Saturday will bring Iron & Wine, Gogol Bordello (Again!!! I Can't get....I need to switch computers before I can start posting screens though... or not, I dunno, I'm in the middle of a very important and time consuming iPod restoration project so I might flake for tonight : \
I have neglected to write in here of late. I apparently suck a lot. So... perhaps I will just babble for a bit. I think that’s wisest. A couple of Saturdays ago, I went to see Iron Man, again, with Vinny...a good time. And now, I am at work. My neck has kind of adopted a dull ache, and it’s tolerable at the present time. My head hurts, though. When I go to lunch, I’m totally taking a shitton of pills
