THURSDAY In spite of the rain I checked in at a few thrift stores; bought a metal hanging basket to try a tomato plant in next spring. FRIDAY Picked up and put away lots of odds and ends out of the...I've used before for mens' garb. Stephanie and I will go shopping for fabric for her garb and his shirt sometime this week and we'll probably make her a cotehardie and maybe an open-sided surcoat.
Look what I found when I went through a kitchen drawer-- So funny! It's a pack of Chippendales playing cards I'd bought for a dollar at the thrift store years ago. I've chosen a few of the highlights... we hardly knew ye. I also have a Chippendales jigsaw puzzle somewhere in storage.. when I saw it, all I could think was, why? Male strippers=jigsaw puzzle? Wonder what else is out there.
So the other day the girls and I drove down to Diamond Park, which is basically a park in the middle of this traffic circle type thing. The leaves were just starting to fall, and it was gorgeous. I honestly... :D It was a good trip. Allie was getting all freaked out lol, because she has never gone to a thrift store before, and she said it made her skin go all itchy and stuff lmao. Whatever. Man up Allie. :
SATURDAY Up and out while Leofwyna was still sleeping [she got put on-call again]. Stopped at library for Stirling's The Sunrise Lands and then at Goodwill [nothing] and Salvation Army [red rain trench...and rock in around it and getting stuff put away while she seeded the grass in the rest of the east section. Supper at Valentino's followed and another collapse in front of tv with computer tonight
On Thursday Hob and Boom went to the thrift store for a monitor Hob saw and wanted, a Diamondvision by Mitsubishi in black. It looks like something old with a more square shape, but actually it has a flat...was glad to be on the net again. We got to woof about money stuff and see Maya the Dog and Pookie and Yin Yang the Cats, and have some banana bread and pasta, it was a lot of fun to visit. Boome
WEDNESDAY After lunch ran errands to Kinkos, back home for the forgotten register and change shirt, the library, the post office, then to a couple thrift stores where I found a big basket, a willow wrapped...Leofwyna and Tamison to go to the last ocarina night where they learned how to play them; i worked on the banner embroidery as music-making just is not my thing. Every year, an academy in a well-to-do area near Pittsburgh holds a used clothing and book sale for a few days, usually around the end of September/beginning of October. Nate and I have been going to...rich gives me a little pang, but I've decided that it's mostly just another way to do a little good. P.S.! The tank-top I'm wearing in the above picture was bought at last year's clothesline sale :
On Tuesday we went to the thrift store for a candle making kit that Hobnose had seen and wanted to try. It's had beads of wax and a wick, and you just put the wick in and fill the jar with the beads and...that Werevereen could get the feet for his costume that had been left there. Werevereen is really making lots of friends in Furry lately since he's been back up North. Have a rainy day.. :) Boome
SATURDAY Went to Omaha with Leofwyna and Odierne. They wanted to go to a Thai restaurant there and Od had a money order to use at Borders. We filled the rest of the day visiting 4 of 5 Thrift World...lab to catch up and register for this week's unemployment insurance. Late night just isn't the same without the computer at home; I've been spoiled and want to stay that way, thank you very much
SUNDAY Mowed the lawn and a good thing I did as it rained good during the night. MONDAY Found Owain's check that I had tucked into a safe place; naturally I couldn't remember where that safe place...from this summer's split. Still breaking down sample books in the evenings, carried out a trashbin full of backing cards and put a couple bags of rejected samples in the car to drop off this week
