...you think American athletes have any thoughts about the host country? Do they even know about 1936 ? About Darfur ? About Tibet ? About 1980 ? About free speech ? Child limitations ? Tiananmen ? Falun gong ? Sure, Americans can’t really talk shit about this because we intervene everywhere and don’t have a squeaky clean record either, but I wonder if this shit even crosses athletes’...

No Easy Answers

June 4th. Tiananmen. Massacre. Stupidly-idealistic students. Tanks. Screams. Bloodshed. 18 years on, June 4th has passed on. Not many born in Gen Y remember or even know about the Tiananmen debacle. I don't know. Being a pragmatic legalist and yet, one who cherishes freedom, I cannot say I have an easy answer to this. I can see from both points of view - how the students were pushed over the edge...

Things people should do:

To Mercedes Benz : your profits will triple if you put tanks into your showroom To that guy in Tiananmen Square : was that shopping you had in your hands? And did the tanks actually run you over?

What a time for me to have a "I can't write ever!!!!!" attack, seriously.

I keep getting confused with how old the characters are here. So this takes place in March of 2003, around then--March or April, whatever, when the Iraq War started. I think I decided that Samar was a...left but not knowing wtf they're supposed to be saying. I'm just so damn tired because I went to sleep at like, 2, and was woken up by yelling at six in the goddamn morning. Yeah, I was pissed

The Man With the Briefcase II

Word this morning, on the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, that the man who I figure is one of the bravest men in the history of the world, is ALIVE!! I have previously called him The Man With the Briefcase. The picture tells the story.
