The Batman of Zur-En-Arrh strikes back, Robin outwits a third-rate King Kraken, and there are more indications Dr. Hurt could be Bruce Wayne’s father. Judging from Alfred’s reaction, I’m more inclined...Batman that has taken his place. Bruce will undoubtedly return to his senses, but in the meantime, I give Morrison credit for reminding readers, including me, that there is a man underneath the cowl.
Grant Morrison has a reputation for bringing wild and crazy ideas to mainstream comics, but the biggest surprise of “Batman” #678 is just how funny it is. The latest issue, part three of the “Batman, R...as much fun if not for Morrison’s framing device, which seems so out there at first, yet makes perfect sense by the end. It portends even stranger developments next month. Personally, I can’t wait.
When I was in fifth grade, I got hold of a mass market paperback called “The Untold Legend of Batman,” which reprinted a three issue mini-series of the same name published in 1980. As I mentioned during a posting of Tim Drake's origin, Jason Todd told Tim that he probably didn't "discover" anything about Bruce Wayne that Bruce didn't *want* him to discover. This was the second time... But in the New Earth post-Infinite Crisis continuity, did Bruce somehow find out Tim was trying to figure out who Batman was and let him figure it out? It puts a whole new layer of batdickery in there
