Holy crap, that is the longest squall line I have ever seen in my life. It literally stretches from Marquette, MI to Olton, TX. The Quad Cities were under tornado warning, so I hope pop_daisy isn't in that area. Everything else appears to be in the realm of bad thunderstorm.

So I got home in time to help Mom get the kids into the shelter. A storm sprang up without much warning over Commerce, and they blew our sirens as soon as it hit Columbus. We spent about 45 minutes in...it went right over us. There was a rotating wall cloud that produced several confirmed funnel clouds and, as of now, three confirmed touchdowns. Damage has not been assessed, but our house is fine

Mom's birthday surprise was a BIG HIT. My aunt drove up from Houston, which Mom thought was to bring me stuff for my trip. Which she actually did, boxes of stuff, especially food. They're all very concerned...was a funnel over Arma, so my aunt was a little freaked until about 4 am when the warning finally expired. And tomorrow I head to the plains. Pretty sure no internet, but I can whine via phone post

We've been under flood warnings, as have Coffeyville and Fredonia (who can always use more rain, especially after last year *SARCASM*) since last night. Woke up about 3 am, just like Saturday night, with... Debated whether to post about it since we're in no danger, but it's part of life during storm season to keep a paranoid watch on the weather. I think we spend more time doing that than anything else

The sirens went off around 7:45. It was heavy and humid, but not raining. There was no sudden cold, like you get. Just sirens. The cats weren't in their carrying cases, the dogs weren't in their harnesses... and battened down the hatches. It didn't hit us. Early reports say there were several touchdowns, but it didn't hit us. And I didn't cry until we were all back inside, with Spike wrapped in a towel
