Spent four days in D.C. with Mom and Aunt Pauletta. Lots of photos behind the cut! Day one- Smithsonian Museum of American History. Smithsonian Castle: The gardens around the museums...at Cuba Libre. Lots of great traditional and modern Cuban food! And a lot of rum. We were stuffed. It was a fun weekend, but I'm exhausted. I must have walked about 15 miles!
I have checked in for my flight tomorrow to Dublin and Shamrokon. I have settled on what I'm taking, made sure I had all the carry-on things I need (passport, cables, chargers, euros in wallet, medications...and early-arriving convention-goers, I'll hit town mid-morning on Thursday. If you're around and want to do lunch/drinks/dinner/wandering around town, I'll be at the hotel and/or reachable via text...
Я вернулась домой после полутора месяцев путешествий. Пытаюсь проснуться. Обратный путь был долгим: Тель-Авив...можно там прошмыгнуть легко, не показывая документы. Откуда такая беспечность? Про Израиль напишу скоро
Duke University: Society bloomed with gentler personalities, more feminine faces: Technology boom 50,000 years ago correlated with less testosterone. My first impression was of taupe, tan, plush...satisfaction as well. Part of the way I'm wired declares that it's important to be able to social hack a place as efficiently as possible. Can't break the rules properly until they are fully understood
Yesterday, I went with a bunch of friends to have brunch in Itaewon which is the 'foreigner town' of Seoul. It's a really disconcerting place to visit actually what with all the foreigners around, though...huge electronics store there looking for a scanner. I found one, but at a $40 mark up from online so I decided to bite the bullet and buy from gmarket online instead. Now to just figure out how..
Y esterday I realised that Kim Stanley Robinson was down to do a signing today and that mater would love to have a signed copy of Shaman , so I set about trying to find a hardback copy. Unable to find...by CrossCountry to Birmingham — and I got home in good time. Although I've enjoyed myself, I'm looking forward to going to bed early and eating food that doesn't come from a concession stand..

Итак минул год как я подсел на этот новый для себя велосипедный спорт. Возможно я придаю очень большое значение... Это усредненный макет этого пространства, где-то грубый, где-то спокойный и размеренный. до встречи на шоссе!
I am probably not going to attend the Hugo Awards. The auditorium is better then that at Chicon (not saying much) or Reno, but still, it's kind of like the Academy Awards - more interesting to see who...is very impressive) and The Queen's Residence, which is now an art gallery. But today my legs hurt, my knees hurt and my ankles hurt. I can't think of anything else at the moment, so have a picture.
ok so like early this week my mom was like "wanna go to cancun next week?" and I said yes so now we're going to cancun. Leaving tomorrow before sunrise, obviously. Pretty nice, though. Apparently...learning the stories of people. That is why I am here, for instance. This entry was originally posted at http://skellaxinscruples.dreamwidth.org/3172.html .
