I should have KNOWN better, but I watched the first four episodes of the recent (and unfortunately topical--it's the one with Merdle) BBC adaptation of "Little Dorrit." I loved Christine Izzard's adaptation...Blandois etc. by Andy Serkis, and Jenny Wren the Doll's Dressmaker by Eve Myles. (I'd like to have been a fly on the wall when her agent explained that they thought she was perfect for girl!Smike.

As ever, I enacted the traditional Rite of Feeling Really Ripped Off by the Top 20. And it dawns on me that the decision of whether to give up on watching the stupid show will be taken out of my hands...of Nigel as "Mullet With Headlights" or Mary as "It's Okay, I Just Went on the Floor." And I'd be spoiled for choice for "shirtless schoolboys" and "who thought that thrashing around was dancing?" moments

Vegas Week at SYTYCD! Mother of GOD, will they please increase the ratio of dancing:jumping up and down and shrieking (pre-Vegas) or :hysterical weeping (Vegas) past its current homeopathic status? Guyz...a bunch of other palookas and tell them they have to debut an improv sketch by tomorrow morning. I figured out why I don't like the Contemporary routines: they're the hurt/comfort of choreography

2-hour SYTYCD audition show tonight. I always wish they would show more of the choreography round, because it would be really interesting seeing who can do the combination well and who's just a one-trick...bit of the cooldown routine involves dangling center-right-center-left. *For those who have never Kippled, "the uniform 'e wore, was nothing much before/And rather less than 'arf of that be'ind.

Thanks to the good offices of a flister, I have all of the episodes of Merlin. I didn't watch the pilot until after watching all of Mad Men S2, also supplied by the same generous person, and it has been...comparative quality of that media property. But I do not wish to imply that merely because I hate something with the passion of 10,000 fiery suns that I believe that its fans are objectively disordered

Made it through slightly more than one commercial break of Kings, aka Dirty Sexy Shekels. They lost me at Duct Tape. Also, they seem to have left a smooth stone (hurr,hurr) unturned--affecting scene of...that the King would have been quite so overwhelmed about the rescue of Prince Rodney... Ian McShane's haircut is definitely in the Race to the Bottom with Christian Kane's tragic Leverage coiffure

I'd seen some buzz about "Being Human" (the TV show where a vampire, werewolf, and ghost share a flat). But nobody said it had Adrian Lester! Anyway, I surmised that it would probably be on YouTube, because...whipped it out, got that serious expression with his brows drawn in and his lower lip stuck out, and whaled on it 'till it turned the color he wanted his shirt, but Jayne would've paid a dollar to see it

Just to clarify the record, I *do* occasionally watch things that *aren't* completely demented. (Cut for length, and potential spoilers.) I've now watched all of The Shield S7 except for Episode 12...that marriage can involve not only a lifetime of marital rape, but frequent life-threatening pregnancies (even if you were quite fond of the husband and the process leading to teh pregnancies).
