Vegetable and mineral

I don't much like artificial air fresheners. Fresh jasmine on the other hand is worth venturing outside for, even in yesterday's weather. In retrospect, I shouldn't have chased the wee bug off it. In other news, congratulations to wcg on another successful trip around the sun. May there be many, many  more.

Twisted

I have too much to do, not enough time to do it in, and now the owners of this house want to come and inspect it. Usually we just deal with their agents. I'm so sick of renting. I also think I'm in need of a long weekend, and am accepting virtual hugs if there are any on offer.

Piece of fluff

To mark the solstice, a wisp of vegetative potential from the cold, dead garden. Here's to the lengthening of the days!

Entanglement

Spiderwebs on a kowhai twig. I went to Karori Sanctuary today, to get some fresh air and exercise. It was muddy.

Rust

Remember that list of Chase Jarvis'? I've come up with an idea for #7 - a book. Vanity publication, of course, but that's not so expensive these days. I'm thinking of putting together a collection...spoon, total internal reflection, frustrated total internal reflection, diffraction, black body radiation. Plenty of time to come up with some more - it's going to take me a while to shoot these ones

Rosegarden winter

Sunny. Cold, but sunny. It's an improvement over last weekend.

Some alien caligraphy

In other news, I am tempted to line every amateur sound guy in Wellington up and shoot them. A monkey with an i-pod could do a better job. What is so hard about "Stick the cd in and let it play to the end" I ask you?

Dead of Winter

and it's only just started. I swear I'm not a teenage goff. A post today - the poster will remain nameless, as I have twitted him enough for one day - reminded me of a conversation I had with...French. Means eregant ." "Ohhhh" Light dawned. "You mean chic . Thats really lovely. Thanks!" One of the most convoluted compliments I've ever been on the recieving end of. And one of the nicest
