Happy Friday, and welcome to my stop on the Fangirl Tour! I started compiling a list as soon as I’d signed up for this, and I quickly realized the hardest part was going to be keeping it to 13. Plus,... In other words, they’ve been around awhile, and they stand the test of time well. That’s all folks! Thanks for checking out this stop on the Fangirl Tour, and I hope you found something to enjoy!
I've noticed that nearly all the Wikipedia articles about Bujold's Vorkosigan stories don't cite any references, read more like personal reviews than encyclopedia articles, and state subjective opinions...read in recent weeks which led me to look at the Wikipedia articles are Shards of Honor and Barrayar (sensibly together in one volume as Cordelia's Honor ), and Ethan of Athos . All good reads.
It snowed yesterday! Like, actually *snowed*!! This is why I love living in Minnesota. Of course, I had to work all day... but still. And I just started "Young Miles" (just finished "The Warrior's Apprentice", actually), and I think Miles is one of my favorite characters. Ever.
...was some damn good reading. Well-plotted, suspenseful, and a lot of fun, with some great characters. But then, I have come to expect that from Lois McMaster Bujold. Now I'm off to go do something else while I'm enjoying the effects of having read a really, really good book.
I've been trying to space out my readings of the Vorkosigan series, because I know myself and know that even I become cynical and irritated if I read too many books by the same author in close proximity...of a strong female character. She's kick-ass, snarky, and also very feminine and sexy. I totes want to be her when I grow up. Doubtless, I will have more to say the more I read, so I'll just stop here
1. StreamingSoundtracks is lovely. Especially since Radio Rivendell started having so many glitches, and I often didn't care for a lot of the things they played anyway.... Anyway, squee! 2. Finished...) - Various Star Trek books. 5. And boo, I want a permanent account! But since I've spent all of my money on Next Generation DVDs recently, alas, I fear I can't indulge anything else. *sheepish
Story #1: Orbit By Lizbetann, lizbetann@gmail.com Fandom: Vorkosigan Universe Paring: Mark/Kareen (het, canon) Rating: PG-13. No sex, some discussion of sexual kinks. Language in keeping...violence. Those who require more specific warnings for your fic: Be warned. Spoilers: AU, diverges halfway through Kushiel's Chosen Summery: Not even Kushiel's scion can control every outcome
Dear God, I'm early. As I (mostly) said last year: "The following is both an abbreviated and extended rec: a portion of the While We Tell of Yuletide Treasure Secret Santa "obscure fandom" fanfic project...the first guy you ever kissed decided to become a Nazi instead of loving you. Downside: The Countess angle was... intriguing, but I want to understand it. Perhaps rereading will make things clearer
