Весь день воскресенья был проведён на скалах в Сифорде. Гуляли по обнажившемуся морскому дну, загорали, ели дикую ежевику, фотографировали чаек, овец, коров и купающихся, пили шампанское на скамейке, с которой открывается вид выше. Прекрасный день. Что есть на этом острове совершенно потрясающего - так это побережье. Которого всего наберётся 12,5 тыс километров.

...that my mother would whine about having to walk home. She doesn't get that you can just walk aimlessly. It's fun. And it helps us get to know our neighborhood better. All I know is that in a few short days, I will be walking everywhere, and I need to be ready for that. Luckily there isn't much walking for an hour at a time, but there is plenty of it in general. And hills. Can't forget the hills.

They have released water from Del Valle reservoir and there is burbling and babbling and cool water today going through the parched arroyo bed. How wonderful! Out on morning constitutional first time in weeks. Utilizing the crazed creativity alotted to me once or twice monthly, I've been leaving voice mails on Brian Lillie's phone this morning every time (alas...pounds overweight and 4/7ths through my lifespan, its pretty much this or else. At least I got out on the trail before the weather segues from merely "steamy" to "Vietnam-style-boiling-you-alive"..

I like to go walking at night. It's calm, it's quiet, it's cooler out than usual, and I get to walk under the moon rather than the Flaming Daystar. This is especially important in Albuquerque, where the Flaming Daystar cooks the city with its penetrative heat. I have lived in a few different summers now, and the heat in each place all has a different quality. Indiana has a steam bath sticky feeling...

I walked ten miles while carrying all of my D&D books. Talk about geek-physique.

...this is actually a weekly thing, and the musicians playing Irish-style music. I heard them before I saw them and honestly thought they were a CD. We dropped our goods off at the car and then went walking. Nick, at Zach's party, had mentioned the path near the quarry, and it was something mom and I were interested in checking out; then I started painting. This was really the first chance I'd had...

A few things to note: My honeymoon with the laptop has likely ended, as it's now two days in a row that I've opted to use good ol' Koala Infestation here on my desk instead. It's not that I don't like...in the process. But somehow, I think I'll still do it again, but perhaps with more slurpee stops along the way. Gotta go downstairs, though. That's the downside of the cutest infestation ever
