Ohhh... so that's why you're so angry and cranky...

So, this is just conjecture, but I think the Canadians I've met are angry because the coffee is sooooo bad. And powdered dairy creamer is the work of the devil. I mean, who does that shit to themselves...rate or short term accommodation in a house/apartment. Joy. I still get bragging rights for surviving two days here. And the rights get greater as I go on. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it

Windmills

Do you remember the bees eating Lichfield Cathedral ? Well, parakeets are destroying the Shirley Windmill in Croydon . C. and I visited the Finchingfield windmill back in September, on a lovely, clear...- there are at least two street signs visible to various degrees in this photo. On Mill Street, there is a pub, The Windmill . Nighttime was not the best time to take crisp photos of it.

The invention of the windmill

During one game of Call My Bluff I had just finished what I thought was a convincing definition, claiming that a particular word related to the invention of the windmill. Alan shook his head at me and...back of 16th-century Flemish paintings.' From the Sandi Toksvig in the Telegraph , 28 Sept '07, by way of Windmill World Those medieval paintings? Just warming up for the main show, of course

Each day when I get home I have been standing outside on my porch and watching the windmills being put up on the mountain.  Inexplicably, I feel like they represent hope; some kind of indication that good things are to come.  The rush (consisting of school and homework) has completely wiped me out, leaving me with nothing but dark circles under my eyes and a new callous on the left side of my...

Road Work?

...highway. We kept seeing what looked like rain clouds in the distance, but they turned out to be a taunting mirage. We took the long way back, stopping through Magrath again to take pictures of the windmills in a better light. When we went there on the way down, the light was rather harsh, but it was much nicer the second time around. We ended up being a little rushed getting back because we got...

Bear Country

...and even then, I wouldn't have felt like typing!] Yesterday morning, we set out on the rest of the journey to East Glacier Lake, Montana. We had some fun stopping along the way to take pictures of the windmills in Magrath. There were much more massive up close than I thought they'd be. I can see how birds would fly into them, but at the same time... No? Nicole and I were both thinking that considering...

Utrecht

...the train and all seemed well. It took about 45 minutes to get there, and we went through the Dutch countryside. Other than all the dykes (lol, yes, laugh all you want you immature idiots) and old windmills, it looked a lot like a greener central Florida. So I mainly listened to my iPod and played solitaire on it. When we got there, I kind of realized that I was starting to get really sick of being...

Rotterdam

Okay, so we arrived here around 9 in the morning. Then learned, oh, we can't take a taxi in, we have to take a bus. Holland was so stereotypically Dutch on the bus ride. There were at least 50 windmills (the fancy energy generating ones though), geese, and canals. Once we got in, we wandered about a half a mile to our hotel, where we learned that we couldn't check in until 2 in the afternoon. So...
