Yay! I figured out that I can in fact continue to post these tomorrow. Here's some more, la la la... 4a: Wine Usagi wrinkled her nose at Minako. “I’ve always thought wine was gross. I don’t know who would want to drink it anyways.” Minako shrugged as Usagi heard an incredulous snort from behind her. She spun around to see Mamoru carefully folding a newspaper and setting it down before taking...
I recently got a bottle of marsala. I got it primarily to make marsala sauce for a recipe I'm doing sometime next week, but there's so much wine and I won't be using that much for the sauce. I want to use it for other dishes, but the only things I've been able to come up with so far are marsala and rosemary cheesecake or a gelato, and I'm looking more for dinner dishes. So I ask you, My Little Pornies...
...know what you think! Week 4: New Year’s Eve This one's pretty crazy and cracktastic, written after a few glasses of shiraz (because I wanted to add to the integrity of the theme, of course). 4a. Wine 357 words One day, Usagi sat down at a New Year’s Eve party, picked up her glass of wine, and... The girl suddenly whipped around as the lights around her faded and the buzz of chatter died around...
Last night was great! I spent the evening with friends at Joel & Ronya's enjoying a truly amazing dinner. Now and then we all get together to have what we refer to as a Hedonist's dinner, the idea being... red and black rice, and there was a phenomenal selection of various salsas using fresh fruit. Full set! And this is hands down on of my favourite shots from the evening.
Week 4A: Wine Sailor Raspberry 276 words She tipped her head back and drained the rest of her beverage. Her eyes were glassy and cheeks a startling shade of red. Her odangos were beginning to unravel and she tripped over her own feet every two steps. Placing her wine glass down on the nearest table, Usagi stumbled over to Mamoru and tied her arms messily around his neck. "Hey." He smiled, patted...
...farm: "green" beans are starting to produce. I'll probably freeze the first few batches, and make some pickled green beans when I really start gettting buried. I racked the tart cherry/apple wine into a secondary container and set up another: Cranberry/apple/mystery berry (red, from the CSA last year, currant shaped, but way to sweet to be currants) This is the "cleaning out the back of...
of things I've gotta do today: - Design Jekel's Hide winelabel for Dave today, we're meeting sometime around 8'ish. - Talk to Dave about payment, try to get something to help pay for school and what not. - Start sketches of QueerControlRecords shirts. - Start to outline Death Head now that I know what I'm doing.
Okay, so a lot of people are going with yon healthy options for the foodstuffs these days. Instead of thick sauces or creams, a bit of olive oil and garlic or a wine reduction are on the menu. Plus it sounds flashy, huh? In my case, I started trying out a few ideas, and here's one of the best I've come across: - 3 tbsp olive oil - 1 cured hard pepperoni, sliced down the middle and chopped into thin...
As a beer drinking British geek I have one not-so-secret vice. I like wine. A lot. I'll explore winegrowing areas for the little out of the way vineyards that don't make too many cases, and I'll happily sit in the sun with a glass of something especially pleasant, just taking in the sun and the subtle flavours. It's a favourite way of passing the time - and we've found many delightful wines that...
This past week, I taught a couple of classes on pairing Shiraz and BBQ at several Wine Styles locations in the Chicago area. Our own class in the city was cancelled, as only two people registered....again. It really appears we should have started with the Italian class - we have our minimum attendance already and the class is this Thursday. We tasted the following wines: Cono Sur Syrah , Colchagua...
