Oh *********!!!! We're supposed to be driving back to Yorkshire across the dread M62 in an hour or so. And if it's snowing here, what's it going to be like in Yorkshire, or on Saddleworh Moor? ::wibbles...to have to ring my sister and see how it is over there. We may have to leave ita day. And I've stripped the bed and washed the duvet. And we've let the Aga go out. Oh buggeringbloodybollocks.
Holy climate change, Batman! O:! It's blizzarding down out there and I'm staring out of the window and I'm like all woah! And that. The car's gone all white and everything. Bless my tail and whiskers, what a peculiarity. This calls for a cup of hot Ribena and no mistake.
It's a tad breezy out there today and cold ! There's a distinct smell of snow in the air which is something of a shock after the ridiculously warm-wet weather of the last few weeks. I should go out... For tis the weekend, let us give thanks and be happy. :o) ETA: LJ seems to have been a bit previous with turning the clocks back. It's tomorrow , LJ - you had me all confused there, for a minute.
Did everyone get those hailstorms last night? I thought the roof was coming in. It's all brilliantsunshine, blue skies and loveliness out there now. There's no accounting for it.
The ever-delightful snycock left on the 7.15 for Manchester Airport and her plane home. We just got back from waving off mab_browne and cross_stitchery on their way (first...is far from well. What a group we've made for the last few days *g*. I hope all the other lurgi-struck fangirls are still amongst the living. But I'm crashing out now. I may be gone some time...
I've hardly slept all night - or, indeed the last several night actually despite the unaccustomed franticactivity. The house is still decidedly tip-py with two whole rooms inaccessible from piles of books/dvds/albums/pictures/rugs/furniture...mania squee but I'm sure it'll be there when it's needed. ::is very tired. Is old and on last legs. Has a cold-sore the size of Battersea Power Station. Needs more coffee:: I'm rambling, aren't I?
I luvs donkeys I do ::grins stupidly:: We have Mr. Brabiner the sweep here, always an entertaining experience. When he's done, I have to journey to the next village to dry throws at the laundrette, then the double glazing guys will come to fit a new back door at huge expense. It's all go here. ::is practically dead of the excitement. That or the sarcasm::
...and I've only done the kitchen and it's half past eight and I've only just sat down for some beans on toast - I've no energy for culinary feats of derring-do tonight. For yes indeedy, we're back in Withnell, trying to put the house back together after the exertions of the last several weeks. I was hoping to do all of downstairs today but the kitchen took forever - mainly because the stove was...
We've been back at the house for a one-day trip ...to see Gary the Magnificent, aka Gary the electrician who fixed our troubles, fitted our switches, even put up the new stair lights (oh man, those...old door!) in the afternoon. It's all costing a lot of £££. Money's bleeding out of the account at the moment. ::wibbles worriedly:: It'll all be worth it in the end ::she chanted like a mantra::
There be BIG problems. A simple enough act, you'd think, wiring in a new wall switch using the same wiring, the same type of switch as before. You would, wouldn't you? I know we did. A mightystruggle...no real explanation for, discovered and - plz? O All the Gods show mercy - fixed? ::hardly dares to hope:: Anyway, I'm off to put the first coat of sealant on the stone floor. Pray for me.
