This weekend I made a wedding cake for my closest friend and her super awesome boyfriend husband. It was my first time making a wedding cake The top and bottom tiers are chocolate cake with mocha filling...of vanilla. I heat the heavy cream and poor it over the chopped chocolate. I was using Rum, but I knew there'd be at least one pregnant lady and one small child so I decided against it it to be safe
Hey everybody tonight I debuted my first successful cake made from scratch as well as my first attempt at using gumpaste to make figures! This cake was for my little sister who loves her cats. It's yellow cake with buttercream frosting. I'm so proud of this cake I thought I would share!

This is the final product of my wedding cake for Kate. The S-206 "Amour" Sid tile cake. *yawns* So. White chocolate cake with mint buttercream frosting. Topped with grey marshmallow fondant and brushed...more wedding appropriate in my opinion. Whew. Well, I need sleep. Just wanted to throw this out there. Sorry its a video, I couldn't take a decent photo in my kitchen if my life depended on it. :
Apparently the past month had been popular for sending out messages to special ones, with me receiving more orders for my Message on A Cupcake flavour, in comparison to others on the catalogue. There's...of it all, especially the little behind-the-scenes stories shared in coming up with the perfect cupcakes. So here's sharing the love with everyone here. *hugs* Drop by my foodblog
Hello All, I've been a part of this community for a while but finally decided to post. I've been baking since I was young and last year I took a Cake Decorating intro course at George brown college in... From Baking! These are just a box mix brownie with fondant pieces! My blog post on it: here As you can see, I love baking things that are cute or video game related. hehe
I baked some cupcakes in honor of my boyfriend's birthday :) I'm still perfecting my piping techniques so bare with me I got inspiration from an XKCD comic: I used the dipping technique to get a smooth surface. I bought neon food coloring to get the colors :) Thank you for looking and any constructive criticism is always welcome
Today's lesson, boys and girls, is that sometimes everything's going to go wrong ... but it's possible to salvage it and come out with a lovely finished product. A field staff member in my department...the decorating (if they noticed the leaning house, they didn't say anything), and Maggie sent me an e-mail thanking me for the 'awesome' cake and telling me I'm 'amazing'. All's well that ends well. :-
My 2 year old loves to help mix and put batter(s) into liners & pans so I thought making the "infamous Rainbow cupcakes" would be a nice project/reward for him. Also Pictured behind the cut, Pumpkin Spice...with assorted sprinkles & those huge rainbow lollipops you see in candy shops & amusment parks Pumpkins are handmade out of Fondant xposted in My journal & curiouscupcakes
My friends birthday is coming up at the end of the month, and she has requested that I make her a cake. I would really like to make one shaped like a shoe, but, have no idea where to start! Any ideas?
