The Preface It is seldom that a movie seriously disappoints me, and this is not because I don't care enough about film to be, in theory, disappointable (indeed, quite the contrary!). Instead, I...- or even a 'Star is Born'-type relationship-- between the lovers. Bob and Sheilah chat on the set of one of his humorous short subject films. Does this look like the 1930s to you?
I love how the federal Liberals are (near?) last in BC behind the GREEN PARTY. LOLLLL. It's time for a new Leader of the Opposition because Dion can't get it done. It's a big snub when the Conservatives...asked Jessica during the previews, "Hey, do you think we'll see the 'Twilight' trailer?", there it was. SQUEE-ville. They had the wrong release date, but whatever. ------- I like the smell of babies
I've been sick since Thursday. My throat started hurting that evening. By 2:30 in the morning, I was sitting on the floor of the bathroom, resting my head against the edge of the bathtub. It was just Hand... rich . Do you see what I'm saying? It's a decent movie if you don't expect it to be a good movie. Sadly, it's nothing more than that. I think it could have been. It had the bones, but no meat
Finally saw Pleasantville , the 1998 comedy-fantasy of writer-director Gary Ross ( Seabiscuit ) that helped put Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon on the map. (That's them in the foreground, below...example of movie makers being more concerned with their visual effects than with their audiences; what a sorry state of affairs that this turkey earned as much money and critical raves as it did.
Of course, the book is always better than the movie. Or something like that. Over the summer, I read Scott B. Smith's A Simple Plan . The simple plan involved a simple scenario- what would you do...depressing novel that makes a reader want to cry and break things. The film adaptation (strangely, the screenplay is attributed to Smith as well) has the same effect for completely different reasons.

today i saw "nick & norah's infinite playlist"...the movie. it was cute and entertaining, where the main characters are (no surprise) nick & norah. nick dated tris, a not-so-kind girlfriend who dumped...really disgusting recurring gag that includes caroline's chewed gum, which is so horrible i can't even say it. (NOT smutty, just i don't like looking at chewed gum when i want to see a good scene play out
