Tomorrow at 10, i fly back to Hot Springs Ark. for Tina and Brian's wedding. HurricaneGustav hit yesterday, but had pretty much done his gig in Louisiana (can you say Katrina?) before moving inland. Saturday is the wedding, and from all accounts, it will be warm, dry, and beautiful. It came in a Category 4 There are lots of tragic pictures of throttled palm trees. The weather site has...

I'm trying to handle this with grace and diginity. Okay, I'm really just trying not to bitch too much. I think I'm doing a good job. But, I forgot to take my meds this morning because I couldn't think straight and all I wanted to do was close my eyes and everything be back to normal. No Gustav. No impending Ike. Just normal. Just utterly exhausted..
... and next Monday, it's going to be PRCC's 100th Anniversary, so classes 9am-1pm are cancelled (for the PRCC parade and free food in Poplarville) and I have class 9am-12:50pm. Lucky me! LOL! HurricaneGustav side swiped us, so we didn't get much damage here in Hattiesburg. I heard that it wasn't too bad where it hit. Nothing even close to Hurricane Katrina. However, there's a few more hurricanes out...
Got these pics from my sister today; please excuse the quality; they're from her cell phone, as they still have no power. Just one of the many trees that was felled or uprooted in the area. My sister...price gauging--the gas was still cheaper than it is here in Chicago. ;) It could be days or weeks before they have the power back in Baton Rouge; no estimates on power at my parents' house, either
