I stayed up entirely too late getting this project started, but I had to start tonight or it would never be finished by this weekend. Jeremy needs a new shirt for faire. The hand-me-down that Steph gave us from Allie's old garb fit well for mst of last season's faires but it is much too small for him now. Though I have awful luck with sewing machines, I waited far too long to get started on this and...

We had an awesome weekend at faire. It just rocked. Joust was great and the boys loved and used our favors and Jackson and Matt wore theirs. Matt's was all bloody but that's okay. We got a lot of love today and it was cool. We went out with the boys and met a lot of really awesome people. I think this is one of the best weekends at faire we have had. Pink sunburns and all. AND. I got scoundrals added...

The students liked the exploding, sliced melon-the dining staff perhaps, not so much :) We wandered the green and did some quick sword fights (and worked on our new fight for Mobile Renaissance Faire in three weeks) and as night fell, that is when the faire proper started. The faire had a completely different atmosphere today than yesterday. Could be that we knew where we were going and had talked to some people yesterdy, could just be that there seemed to be less patrons to begin with and more performers. Drove way too long yesterday in rain and road construction but finally got here. Too late for us to try and find the faire site. So this was a first for us, not knowing where we were going. Had a print out from google but it wasn't terribly clear. Found new directions online this morning, pretty accurate except for the very first direction - told us to turn right from the hotel. I'm not feeling worried or nervous or anxious for this weekend like I normally am, just happy and looking forward to the last faire. I think a lot of this comes with the friends I've been making recently and the increase in responsibility at work. It feels good to know that not only do they think I do my current job well enough...

So faire this weekend was so much fun! Jason, Raven and I drove up late Friday night, and set up camp, without waking anyone at 2 on the am. The next day we woke up, freezing cold, and got up to do breakfast, set stuff up, say hello to everyone, etc, etc. I did inventory, and Jason had his first day of working as a boothie at ren faire.
