...it’s not the most logical system, but I’m just going to give my quick opinions…maybe occasionally, when the mood strikes, I’ll write a much more detailed review, but otherwise… Now, on with the movies. :) And if you have any recommendations, let me have ‘em. :) Films I’ve Seen Recently Black Beauty (1994) Based on the novel by Anne Sewell Screenplay by: Caroline Thompson...
I forgot to mention, today I saw the movie "City of Ember". Wow, that movie was so interesting. Quite scary at some places, but it kept me holding on throughout the entire movie. It's a movie I HIGHLY...the way out of Ember was (that part kept me hanging.) And the part where they finally found the place above Ember. Anyway, it was a fantastic movie! I might just read the book from this. Five stars
So I went to see "Quarentine" today- It was free popcorn day (Big Bertha's happiest trip ever, made ten times better... she loves her popcorn!) and I had a coupon to make it less than matinee prices. Whoot...kind of movie, it's not bad. Worth a matinee or a trip with friends- but don't break your back to go see it, it'll be on free TV soon enough. ;) It give it 3 foaming-at-the-mouth zombies out of 5
So... Brotherhood of the Wolf came in the mail yesterday, thanks to BlockBuster. I decided to watch it today... Rating: 3 out of 5 The Brotherhood of the Wolf or Le Pacte des loups by...hope, and rarely do they end with ‘happily ever after’. Still, it’s intriguing enough that you do want to see the end…that has to say something I suppose. ….the creature was kinda awesome...
Short review is short because I still don't know what to say. Spoilers within. Starring: George Clooney, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Tilda Swinton, Brad Pitt Written, Produced & Directed...cinematography was beautiful and I loved all of the unique shots. Another aspect of the film that I loved (and perhaps one of the best parts of the film) is the scenery. YAY VIRGINIA/WASHINGTON D.C.
"The Dorm" is a Thai movie, that I watched on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VigQJDLrQ0w&feature=PlayList&p=3ADF2F2D09AE8FD2&index=2 ) with English Subtitles. It won numerous awards, and I can...tears- it was SO sad in a cute kind of way... it made you feel for all involved, and left you with a nice warm fuzzy feeling to boot. I give it a definate Five Kleenex's out of Five. Ghosts are cool. :
Actually, I was up tonight, and since Jim was busy on HSF stuff, I thought I'd check out "Shutter" (the origional asian version). I was told the american version sucked, but had never heard anything about...creepy-crawlies for days after. heh heh heh. You can see this film here: Watch "Shutter" Movie I used 'version 2' which is on youtube in ten parts, and streamed well without technical problems. :
...net/movies/the_maid/ or directly view it at: http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-357494590541610983&hl=en&autoplay=1 If you can get me a (legal) copy, I would SO buy it from you. I own less than two dozen movies... I would LOVE to own this one. A real Halloween-ish MUST.... (squee) I am a happy man, to have found another GOOD scary movie in this genre... WICKED GOOD.
I know, I know... my otherhalf gave it a low review. hrmf. Don't let him fool you. We paid a pittance to get in with our cupons, but honestly, I would not have felt bad reccomending this movie at the...that "The Others" or "Sixth Sense" did, IMHO, but it did brush shoulders with them in many ways. Definately an awesome movie if you like to be scared while having to figure out a puzzle too. Go see it
