Specific kind of cheating fic

As the subject says, I'm looking for a rather specific kind of cheating fic. I'm not even sure if there are any stories like this, but here goes. Fics where one person cheats on the other, and when they...for, but close. My auto preference is McKay/Sheppard (in this instance, Sheppard being the cheater), but I'll take any pairing. Just please let me know what pairing it is that you're rec'ing. Thank you

_Pandemonium_ update

...a more interesting and exciting story. Several times he uses a literary trick that reminds me of the Zen koan "First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is"; something which genre expectations lead you to expect to be one thing turns out to actually be something else (often humorously) -- but then turns out to fulfill your original expectations after all, but in a way that...

any Xmen crossovers?

Hello all! I went through a backlog of posts and couldn't find anything related to something like this before... June or July I think so I'm pretty sure I'm safe. If I'm not, sorry for wasting your time...powers (as well as Laura Cadman iirc). Oooh! And Sardonicsmiley's (frankly awesome) fics. so... any others than that? Sorry if this is really specific, but I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed anyways

Pandemonium pre-review

...the phenomena. It's a trope most frequently seen in fantasy or horror, but it's treated here in a very straightforward, almost SF-nal way. I cannot, at this point at any rate, say definitively what genre this book is. The author is clearly aware of the genre ambiguity, and not interested in making it any simpler. At one point it actually gets foregrounded in the text. The protagonist is peripherally...

Mind-reading, poorly (interview with Geoff Ryman)

...of tropes people tend to like (and we don't read stories with them because they deny reality, my dear), but the self-righteous arrogance against anything that doesn't qualified as your precious sub-genre (as you obviously are showing here), combined with the history of ignorance and lack of understanding about the sciences is what makes this little movement of yours incredibly disliked. Work on your...

Quit transcending my genre!

...quote from poster Sam Jordison about THE ROAD: "Rare and brave were the mainstream critics who recognised its SF antecedents without coughing and spluttering about how it somehow transcended the genre." The implication of those mainstream reviewers, which is plain, is that if a book is good, it can't be science fiction, even if it has a science fictional plot and setting. Jordison compares the...

Presidential Elections '08

So I just read trinityofone Call for Change and I was wondering if there's any fics out there that features the current election in a not insignificant way. Which means just a passing remark by Rodney (it's kinda almost always Rodney who's making the remarks) won't cut it. Obama-love is as bonus though I'll take neutral coverage as well. Any character, any pairing. Thanks in advance!

Does Harrison Ford Dream of Electric Sheep?

I like lists, especially good ones that introduce new things and encourage enthusiasm for old ones. EW 's "Sci-Fi 25; The best since '82" reminded me of fond moments from growing up with sci-fi television...animals speak in human tongues and deliver psychic messages, that's freakin' fantasy. Even if it's allegory, it's fantasy. Anyway, to me, calling it fantasy doesn't de-legitimize it. It's a masterpiece
