In My Footsteps: Trip 3 - Dennis, Mass.

...highway traffic rushing by on the right.   Not to be missed in the same parking area as the Indian Lands and the Dennis Town Offices is another piece of history. Called either Old South Dennis Cemetery or Dennis Ancient Cemetery( right ), it lies behind the Town Offices in a fenced in area but is accessible. The graves contain some of the last names most associated with Cape Cod. Names like...

Everybody Leaves [OTA]

Eric was a punctual guy. It was something that annoyed George and made her laugh at the same time; it was also something she had come to count on. She didn't really question it when he had missed work...like she was his daughter, telling her what to do and throwing out advice. Who cared if he was gone? She hated this village and all the people in it. Why did everyone she care about have to go away

NYE and the last few days.

... as the night drew to a close, I had to find myself a ride home. It would have been a good 2 hour walk home or something, on a potentially rainy night. Not to mention the house was adjacent to a cemetery (that I  really wanted to check out on the night, too bad people were too chicken). So I finally got a ride home, and went straight to bed, still starving. The next day (the 1st of January)...

Cemetery

There's a cemetery deep below the sea There is spaces reserved for fools like me Tried to kill myself at least a dozen times But nothing seemed to turn out right Now I'd rather wait a half a century Soiling the bed belligerently Even when I go blind and lose my mind Nothing seems to turn out right Something's gotta turn out right You're in my body You're in my body You're in my body That's where...

...the great eXXXplosion!..

The most useless thing in the world is fence on a cemetery! Nobody can go out... and nobody wants come in. Few days ago we had a chance to try ourselves as a photojournalists for the local city magazine ... perfectly occasionally! Walking through the memorial cemetery park (oh, yeah! We used to look for inspiration in such kind of places fro time to time... muahahah! ;) ) with cameras - as usual...

Is there no place like your grave?

I love takin pictures in cemeteries, they're quite peaceful and relaxing, and I think there's something artistic in the old, ruined and moss-covered gravestones. That's a fake flower. They're kinda... I say sorry to the dead person six feet under; if I were him, I'd be glad. I'd also hate those trash flowers all over my gravestone, I mean, I'm dead, take me some fresh real flowers, what the fuck.

Death on his Mind - Cemetary - OTA

Ben was doing his usual circuit of the village, exercising and training Diefenbaker, who turned out to be very keen at finding sweet wrappers. He was on the edge of despairing when he found himself,... Tag when he's on his 'patrol' with Diefenbaker where he's happy or in the cemetary where he's melancoly. Robert is tagable only to dead people and psychics, otherwise, Fraser's just talking to air.

modified crosses on Orthodox cemeteries in Russia

i'm not sure if i've already asked you about this... anyway, i'm xposting from freetobelieve : when i was in Russia, i noticed an interesting cross on a cemetery. it had the slanted crossbeam in central position: have you seen such a cross before? what could it mean? at first i assumed that someone just made a mistake while making the cross, but there were more of them and not only in one...

New England November

I've got a poem in the local paper today. The line in italics is from a gravestone in the cemetery. If you'd like to hear me read it, there's a recording up on the paper's site. Northampton Cemetery Delicate limbs fractured stone Hunts and Stoddards planted their bones dead, gone Waning moon morning sky Be ye also ready to crackle and fly Leaves rise wind comes on comes home
