The past few days have been pretty good, I have to say.  We got  Thursday and Friday mostly off from the ERP project at work.  The guys working on the install with us had a client in the final stages...I just wish I could get better commitment from people.  Waiting until a month before a performance to know I'll have enough people is nerve wracking. Saturday was kind of a wasted day.  How can one have a wasted vacation day?  Isn't that sort of an oxymoron?  Well, we had to get out of our time share because we have one week in an ocean front unit that...flutists.  What an amazing sound.  I can't believe their spring concert fell right in the middle of our vacation and only 1/2 hour from where we're staying. Anyway, off to another week of being lazy

Yes, I'm still working on answering all of yesterday's meme requests, but I had to share this! There's an exchange going on on a flute choir list I belong to where a woman is looking for recommendations...played at a band concert...late fall this year.  They want me to challege them, but with a piece that they will really enjoy. In December, my flute choir, the Silver Village Flute Choir, had eight members.  As of today, one of them has moved to TX and two of them have taken a leave of absence.    This means I'm down to five...their pursuits and rejoin us (hopefully). On the bright side, it will give me more time to work on the database project I'm doing as a consultant on the side and maybe focus on my arranging more.

Well, ok, I actually have a lot more than that, but the subject had the right rhythm. This is actually going to be a fairly long update of stuff. I'll hide it behind cuts for brevity on friends' pages...good to have the old Pats back, especially in the second half.  That brings us to 13-0 with a fine looking shot at a 16-0 season. All in all, a busy, occasionally harried, but really good weekend

At Randy's last bardic, Kara asked me if I'd be willing to direct her and a bunch of our friends in doing SATB Christmas songs for her Christmas party and maybe at a nursing home.  I agreed and have...We utterly destroyed the poor Bills.  I was feeling bad for them because we could just do no wrong.  So on we go undefeated.  Go Pats! Now, back to my vacation and another day of database development.

I've actually been in two flute choirs, in high school and college. I thought about doing them separately until I realized I don't remember too much about my high school flute choir. That's probably...when I taught? I had two flute choirs and a percussion ensemble.) Still, I wish it would have ended differently. It would have been totally different had Cate left it at enrollment being down. But no.
