RANT, by Chuck Palahniuk RATING: 8 WHY I PICKED IT UP IN THE FIRST PLACE: I was told to read something by Palahniuk, so I did. REFLECTIONS: At the beginning, I thought of putting this...or "hilarious", and this was more unsettling and clever. I could see the definite link between himself and Vonnegut, however, though Palahniuk is a little more gritty. Overall, it was a great book
I am having such a capslock day. I'll spare you actual capslockiness though. capslock_batman is my new best friend. The lulz are endless. Holy crap. I stole that avatar from them and am only...Time Traveller Day. Also, I finally got around to making that icon for you, Grace. It's a bit minimalistic because my editing program is kind of crap, but here it is: That is all. Goodnight.
I found a new independently-made video game for all you time travelers out there. It's called "Braid" and it's pretty sweet. Here are a couple of screencaps: ((ooc: Got them from surfing...in time in this platformer setting with creatures to defeat along the way. The background is pretty trippy, it's like a moving painting. And the music gets five stars from me, which is saying a lot.
cold, water I dreamed about getting a text message from Matt reading, "Going to the hospital." Later: I was in a long, narrow living room with wood paneling on most of the walls. The wall above the...the touch. He mumbeled, "So cold . . . so cold." His wife followed him into the house (I never actually saw her, but I knew she was there) with his thumb parts in a white handkerchief, also with no blood
I've had at least two ideas for movies in the last day or so. This is my curse. I come up with ideas for movies but I don't really have the time to write them all. I have a folder full of screenplays...up the street. He's appeared in something like 4 dozen independent films locally. Gotta try to do that Monday. God, there's just not enough time in the day. note to self: invent time machine
One comment from Damon and Carlton at Comic Con has stuck in my head. They mentioned that both flashbacks and flashforwards would be used this season in a new way. They offered the example of the episode...on the Island in 1978 or so. This would be the simplest way to explain most of our LOST questions...by reliving the past 30-year history of the Island. At this point, all we can do is wait and see...
Oh man. When it played at the PIFF, and then again when it played its regular run in theaters, and then again when it was new to DVD, I kept wanting to see In Bruges . I was the guy that told everybody...apply to the time travel story, I suspect, but could be the other fantastical storyline, the Bridge storyline, it could work great to apply to that. This is going to take some more thought. Yes.
