I am an AWESOME painter, and I lurve my masking tape because it makes my paint jobs look more like we actually paid somebody to do them rather than me in overalls and a badly balanced ladder trying to...I do the stairs first, then trim, then walls? When driving around town at night I have always admired houses who put candles in their windows; it gives a house such a welcoming feeling of homeyness. When we moved into Kindlewick I immediately thought... I put one in each front window. Now our house has lovely candlelight shining out in the darkness which is coming ever earlier. Best of all, I don't have to remember to turn them all on!

While Natta is in Preschool I have had quite a bit of time to work on projects. The one that seems to occupy the most time this summer is my window painting which is showing slow but steady progress...sitting there watching paint dry. Today has been a glorious Indian Summer day. My front yard is blooming with a profusion of dark red mums. I had to wait all year to find out what color they were but it has been worth the wait. In...$12 later, I had a bright new fall bunch to go in the boxes. I love having window boxes on my house! It's such a nice, cottage-y touch and the spots of color add so much to the front of the house.
