I really wanted to like Paul Melko's "Singularity Ring". I'm a sucker for everything that has Singularity in the title. But it failed to draw me in. By the way -- maybe it's just me, but by stating the...are not woven seamlessly into the plot. That's actually a common flaw in many science fiction books. It's hard to do it right. Well, this is Paul Melko's first novel, so maybe there's still hope

So, I have to admit I was a huge fan of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Series. I reread the first three book several times. (By several read about ten each.) Of course I really enjoy that genre as well, so...isn't so enamored with the big bow that they don't see that the book blows chunks. Tony Hillerman wrote the Navajo Tribal Police mystery novels with Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee. I've read most of his books (all but the non-Navajo ones, I believe). I went through a stage of burnout and... but got over it and caught up on the ones I hadn't read. I'd known his age and state of health, but will miss him even so.
